Bastille Day Celebration In Norfolk

Come out and celebrate Bastille Day in Norfolk this Saturday and immerse yourself in everything Français! 

What is Bastille Day? It is a National Day of Celebration in France honoring the Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789. The annual Bastille Day in Ghent (Norfolk) honors the historic friendship and cooperation between the United States and France and will be celebrated on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 12-6pm.

Where: Colley Avenue at Spotwood Avenue, Norfolk VA

Cost: Free and Open to the Public

Schedule: There are events (and food, yum) for all ages, here is the current schedule:

  • ​12-12:30pm: Opening Ceremony
  • 12:30-6pm: Mask making, face painting and Revolution Trivia game
  • 12:30pm:  Les Mistinguettes Cancan Dancers
  • 1-2:30pm: 
    • Children story telling
    • Juggling
    • TricycleTour de Ghent
  • 2:30pm: Waiter’s Race
  • 3pm: Classical concert – Hampton Roads Chamber Players
  • 3:30pm: French Language Conversation tutoring
  • 3:30pm: Juggling
  • 4:30pm: Dance Performances by 757 Dance Studio
  • 5pm: Storming of the Wall
  • 5:15pm: Juggling
